She knows the gaps because she was in them. A tanked credit score. Still paying the bills on one place while trying to save for another. Job insecurity, all during one of the most frightening and traumatic stretches of her life.
Seventy-three percent of survivors stay longer than they want to for economic reasons. That is why AnchorD is building a place where the economics are secure for two years.

AnchorD Foundation
Washington nonprofit corporation, applying for 501(c)(3). Board being seated: a target of five directors, three of them independent of Melissa and of the LLC.
Where it stands today
- Foundation formation and 501(c)(3) application in progress. No determination letter yet.
- Board recruitment underway.
- No site acquired. No units built. No residents.
- Fundraising open for phase one of the Safe Campus.
- Inbound requests for help are read and answered by a person, with honest limits.
